Con casi 150 cartas nuevas, los cuatro mazos de Warhammer 40,000 de octubre han tenido un impacto no solo en Commander, sino que también son legales en Vintage y Legacy. Respondiendo a una pregunta en su blog Blogatog sobre la aparición de 40K en el formato Legacy actual, que puede usar casi cualquier carta impresa, el diseñador jefe de MTG, Mark Rosewater, confirmó que «no hay planes inmediatos para hacer versiones en el Universo de ninguna carta de Warhammer 40,000». ”.

Sin embargo, esto también puede verse como un endurecimiento de la política, con Rosewater negando rotundamente que estas tarjetas verán reimpresiones pronto, a pesar de que se ven en formatos altamente competitivos como Legacy. En respuestas anteriores a preguntas sobre las reimpresiones de Warhammer, Rosewater ha dicho que no está «prohibido» reimprimir tarjetas si hay demanda de ellas. A pesar de la pregunta formulada, 40K no ha tenido un impacto masivo en Legacy o Vintage hasta el momento, y el nombre más importante probablemente sea Poxwalkers, que aún no es suficiente para ocupar un lugar en el siempre popular mazo Hogaak, Risen Necropolis.
